The 1914 Indian Head Quarter Eagle (Buy on eBay) represents the second lowest mintage coin in the series overall. It also represents the lowest mintage coin issued from the Philadelphia Mint.
A total of 240,000 were put into circulation, where most spent at least some time. Circulated examples of this secondary key date carry only a small premium above other issues of the series. Higher uncirculated examples of the 1914 are rare, especially so in gem grades and higher. Some pieces have appeared in recent times at that grade level, making them slightly more available than the Denver issue of the same date, which had a mintage of 448,000 pieces.
